Premise 1: 360 had spotty backwards compatability for some of the games of a system that had hardly any games for it. (My copy of Guilty Gear for the OXbox works great with the 360, btw.)
Premise 2: Given the first premise, absolutely NO backwards compatibility with an *extensive* library of on-disc and digital games from the longest generation of video game consoles ever is a non-issue.

Uh, no. A lot (maybe not the majority, but a LOT) of PC games do not require/have not required an access code in the past. Also, very, very, VERY few CONSOLE games have in the past.
