To be honest, this was the story ever since the NXE launched. It was the same watching those few years ago and knowing that most of the padding was completely irrelevant because I'm on the other side of the pond. That said, I don't think Canada gets all the US content either.
To access most TV content on an Xbox 360 in the UK, you need to buy a subscription package to Sky and for the vast majority of people it's far better to just get an actual Sky+ box which has the added benefit of being a DVR and is not dependant on internet bandwidth and buffering.
Oh, but a Sky+ box can also connect to the internet itself via wi-fi or ethernet should you want and you can then download a huge amount of on demand content directly to it's HDD as well.
Basically, it's not really any cheaper to get Sky exclusively through an Xbox 360 and it has limitations compared to the proper box. So it's very niche. A last resort kind of thing.
There was all that stuff in the video about fantasy leagues for example, but what are they going to do? Make a universal system that applies to numerous sports around the world?
Obviously in Europe, Central and South America, the other football is by far the dominant sport, so are they going to put the time and effort into tailoring that for all the countries and the dozens of leagues amongst them?
That's going to be a huge investment in time and money for what is definitely a niche feature.
