"Self-contradictory statement" is what I was thinking as well. In any case, I hope MS isn't really stupid enough to pull this stunt. If they do, I wouldn't be surprised if they came in third simply by merit of millions... nay, tens of millions of potential customers being shut out, to say nothing of people who object to always-online as a matter of principle. I sure as hell ain't gonna buy a system that becomes a brick when either my internet or the XBL servers go down; that would be a completely and total shitload of fuck. Nothing's official yet and everything's still just rumor for the next several weeks, but if they do go through with it, well, I guess I'll just have to deal with it... by buying a PS4 instead.
