So, rather than repeat a very long post here on these forums, I'm going to link my post on reddit that explains, in full, exactly what the Halo Community Matchmaking Project is. But just for funsies, I'll give you all a quick rundown.
I started this project to hopefully give the community an organized avenue to get what they wanted out of Halo 4 in a matchmaking-esque experience without having to always organize their own customs. HCM is designed to be easy to join in, and easy to host for. Basically, trusted hosts will act as Matchmaking servers, hosting a set of pre-determined gametypes and maps over and over for a set amount of time. The way the gametypes are set up, hosts can either play with the group, or sit idly by and switch the gametype and map every 12 minutes.
Players join these "Playlists" through a set of Silver Xbox Live accounts, a Google Doc, and the help of a twitter feed for live notifications. It's all explained much better in the post, so on with it!

This whole thing isn't something I want to control by myself. I want to get the community involved. I'm already putting feelers out, trying to get more people interested in hosting playlists for their various community's needs.
Anyway, I'll let you read. Let me know what you guys think. If you're interested in trying it out and playing some games, FOLLOW THE TWITTER (this is the easiest way to stay updated and know when lobbies are starting), and subscribe to the subreddit if that's your thing.
Thanks!
