HaloWars sounds (and some scoring metrics info)

I came on here to post about some progress made towards extracting HaloWars sounds (with meaningful filenames), and ended up addressing how Combat Efficiency is calculated. Now that I have that out of the way, I can share some sound goodies!

So I was recently able to process the sounds package for HaloWars. The game uses Audiokinectic's Wwise SDK (343i started using it in H4 as well), which other game modders seemed to have messed with but, from what I can tell, haven't really done that much with understanding the underlying format. Because of this, they only extract a small pool of the sounds that are typically found in a Wwise sounds package.

I took the time this weekend to figure out the package's file format and earlier yesterday morning I found myself extracting well over 10k sound files, with only a little over 500 with no meaningful file names (there's a bunch of civilian dialogue from Arcadia City that I don't have names for). I thought I'd share a small sample with you guys until I'm able to update my KSoft.Tool to support Wwise sound extraction (for HW at least, the file formats typically change in small ways from each major release)

unsc_tiger sounds (520KB; only a handful; tiger was a cut vehicle)
grunt battle chatter sample (~7MB; 115 of the 535 grunt battle chatter permutations)

No one can do a grunt like Staten. It's too bad grunts speak alien farts now. If they do a sequel to Halo Wars, they can do themselves a favor a leave out the whole 'oh let's make everything fit into the universe! make the aliens speak alien!' bullshit that they started with Reach.
