: Sandtrap: If you were never captivated by this map then you played Halo the
: wrong way. What was this structure? Where is it? Is it even Forerunner?
: What is the secret of Sandtrap?

: Sandbox: Goes hand in hand with Sandtrap, IMO. I still think this is the
: greatest Forge map, if only because it was the the most visually
: interesting to me, and I had a lot of fun on Forged Sandbox variants. A
: lot more fun than I ever had on Forge World maps (with a few
: exceptions..). Like Sandtrap, it has a mysterious aura, one that sometimes
: even gave me the creeps if I was alone forging on it.

: God, I miss Halo 3. :/

There are plenty of maps throughout the games that have had me wondering, and while I feel like H2 may have had me wondering about locations and events the most in multiplayer, H3 really stands out in my mind. Sandtrap aand Sandbox both for what you said, as well as the bit of just where they are and what's going on. I get that Sandbox was designed for Forge, but it still has that whole super ancient feel to it. And the planet in the sky on Sandbox just always had me wondering what system we're in, or if there's some significance to these locations considering their defenses around the structures.

And then there's Snowbound. Why did the Covenant decide to set up shop there? Yeah, Forerunner, but was there something special here? What's down below all the snow? What system are we in, and how close might it be to other landmarks throughout the galaxy that we've been to at this point?

There's just something about those three maps that always captured my imagination the most out of any multiplayer maps of any of the games, and I don't really know why, but they've been fun to think about.
