Sigh. I use the word sacrosanct and suddenly I'm Cotton Mather. If I were so vehement, I would not have thrown you a bone (a skull, to be precise :)).

I think that for this issue 343i is just following in Bungie's footsteps, and I think I understand why Bungie didn't include this feature, and I, along with Phoenix, was trying to give voice to that reasoning. I understand why you want this feature, and your reason is completely legitimate.

As a fix for bad sound design, though, I stand by my belief that adding an audio slider is treating the symptoms and not the disease.
