SpOps Ep10 Coop Night Write-Up *SP* *IMG* *VID*

Coop night. 2/18/2013. Episode 10. Lots of stuff to shoot at. I've compiled some of the notable happenings, and now present them here in the amazingly high-definition graphics provided by Halo 4's excellent image and video capture support. What? It's been proven by science that red armour makes you perform better! Anyway, let's do this! //==================== First things first. These AA guns are weird. We were frolicking about and meleeing the guns, as we do, and their physics model disappeared rather oddly from beneath our feet. With the AA guns out of the way, let's break into this stapler Harvester. You're probably a little confused after watching that. In case you missed it, check out the upper right-hand corner of this frame from the video. Not that it'll make anything make any more sense. RIP brave spartan who dared to stand on a pelican. Anyway, after you get into the Harvester, you come across some eggheads. Turns out they behave kind of like Reach civilians. Unfortunately, my teammates loved the fact that these guys behave kind of like Reach civilians. Button-pressing became very difficult. Anyway, we discovered that the Harvester needed some AAA batteries, and the Infinity was all out. So, moving on to mission 2! //==================== We quickly found that cliffs were not our strong point; we almost had a bit of a lemmings moment. Lots and lots of improper walking technique. Tired of pressing buttons like normal people, we attempted to behave more creatively to pass the time. After some time, we made our way to a door. //==================== So, mission 3. I tried to splatter a large gaggle of suicide grunts. Shut up. Moving into the large area with the lich was pretty neat. Clean, colourful skybox with a draw distance of more than 2 feet. A big group of enemy aircraft coming in overhead, including a big, exciting boarding battle. Feels like Halo. Good work, 343i! Anyway. Bleh. Invisible ceiling like 2 inches off the ground. One big facade! But, we tried to make the most of the situation. And by that I mean we engaged in improper driving technique... ...and improper un-boarding technique... ...and I followed it up with some more improper driving technique for good measure. When all this was done, we had the AAA batteries and were well on our way to escape! Mission 4 time! //==================== Having moved back near to our LZ, we did stuff. After we had gotten our fill of doing stuff, we did more stuff. No amount of "stuff" would get us through the day, however. We lost our mantis, and the enemy was equipped with plasma grenades! Eventually we managed to respawn our way through. Time to go make our final assault in mission 5! //==================== Back at the Harvester, installed the AAA batteries. The Harvester did that thing it does. We stayed clear of the door! Speaking of which, there's a nice touch with how the "heat" effects are rendered going into the newly-created tunnel as opposed to coming out of it later. You know what else was cool about being in the cave system? Gravity. I also thought the fresh entryway to the cave system looked kind of neat. One of those spots where hazy visual effects really work. //==================== In the cave system, we cut the magic space tether that was making the Infinity sad. We escaped and flew away. Then Requiem plumetted into a star and there was a massive explosion. The end.
