They were pretty slow in ODST and in Reach seemed to crawl to the correct locations to do their amazing boarding animations. I don't care about how it looks. I just want them in that vehicle NOW. I got my Legendary walking run down to 9:20 with 16 kills and 0 deaths. The first sphere (one of its spheres is approached through the UNSC weapons cache cave system) I kill close up because all but one covie retreats b4 you reach it and the cave walls shield you. The Elite will also retreat if you pause a few seconds b4 getting close. The second sphere can be taken out from deep inside the caves. The Plasma Pistol is excellent once the outer cover is blown, maybe even b4 then. If I had the ammo perk and if that Elite's head hadn't been in the way I could have got the time down close to 8 mins. (I had to scrounge for ammo and the Elite's head sheltered the sphere that I was aiming at.) If you then go to the 1st turret's plateau you will see that it is edged with rock spires. There are clefts in between them. You can stand at the rightmost cleft and take out two spheres without taking fire from any turret or enemy. Oddly enough I then stood to the cleft to the left to take out the other sphere and wasn't shot at either. That is unusual. You normally have to dodge turret fire when you shoot from there. There is then a stonehenge style, square arch in front of the plateau; it gives cover from the final turret. Stand on the rock on the left side near the arch that is sheltered by the arch. You can pepper the last sphere without taking hits. I was thinking in ODST terms and was trying not to get too close to the Wraith; that is why I died so much. If you drive right past the Wraith, at times it bumps against you, then it can be killed quickly. You need to retreat to recharge shields. You may be able to just hide behind the buildings and drop a regen sphere to get back into the action more quickly. Once the Wraith is dead it's just a matter of letting your gunner mop up the covies protecting the extraction site. With two people you could probably hit two spheres simultaneously and almost halve the time.
