HaloPC Trial was supposedly taken down (good riddance, get the full game you slackers), but I'm still able to query the master server for Custom Edition (I don't touch PC actual)
If the new owners of GameSpy do shelve support for HaloPC/CE, we'll probably introduce an alternative for a master server for Custom Edition using OpenSauce.
Though now would be a good time to open source that there Halo1 (at least the engine, not the assets to the game), 343i. Cause, you know, a Halo game hasn't been on the PC since 2007 (which was poorly delivered anyway), and likely won't ever again. And Bungie probably would have done it, since they've released the source to their older games when they were long since finished with them.
Or let people license it. It's not like you're making any more money out of Halo1 itself. Hell, I'd throw down a couple grand to be able to implement the stuff in OpenSauce in the engine using the actual source instead of reverse engineering (which can only do so much).
