Halo:CE in Minecraft (amazing)
Posted By: Jordan117Date: 12/4/12 8:31 p.m.

Just came across this looking for an old model: Planet Minecraft user Ulanus is working on complete, 1:1 replicas of entire campaign levels from the original Halo.

The Silent Cartographer, including all the interiors (and the Hunters!)

The Truth and Reconciliation, including the outdoor areas and the entire interior of the supercarrier

Two Betrayals (it even snows!)

If you have Minecraft, you can download the world saves for T&R and Two Betrayals, unzip them, and drop the world folders into your save folder (tutorial).

The Silent Cartographer is a little more difficult -- the download link is broken, so you have to use a workaround:

1. Download the schematic file, which is different from the (broken) world save

2. Start a new game (in Creative mode), then save and quit

3. Download and install MCEdit

4. Start MCEdit and open your new game world

5. Click the "Import" tool in the bottom toolbar, then locate the Silent Cartographer schematic file you saved

6. Drop the model of the level into your world (it's large -- try not to put it on top of yourself!)

7. Ctrl+S to save, then quit.

When you open the world in Minecraft again, the model should be there! If it's on top of you, just dig your way out and fly to the top by double-tapping the jump button.

I don't know what texture the guy's using, but it looks great even without it! Can't wait to see what he does next.
