In Response To: The HBO Forum Card Game (pete_the_duck) Each card in the HBO Forum Card Game will represent a post by a HBO forum member! That means I’d like you to literally be a part of this game! So if you’re interested in being a card, I first need to clarify a few relevant details: - First, this game will be made available for PURCHASE, with an estimated price of $20-30, through a service such as The Game Crafter. This seems like the best way to get this game into people's hands--printing off decks at home is not practical nor desirable in terms of quality. Final price depends on the number of cards and whether it will come in a box, etc. - Second, not everyone who asks to be included is guaranteed to be included in this game. - Third, this is OPT-IN ONLY. If you don't specifically ask to be included, you will not be included. . . . Cool? Okay, here’s how to get started: To apply to be a card in the game, send an email to petetheduck[at]idleduck.com with the following: Subject: HBO Card Game #1. The name to appear on your card.* #2. The quote to appear on your card, 140 character limit.* #3. The image to appear on your card, as an attached or linked 633x363 pixel PNG or JPG.* #4. What Halo games you have played: Halo, Halo Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo Wars), what year you started visiting Halo.Bungie.Org, and any HBO clan or group affiliations you would like to acknowledge. This information is relevant to the badges I am currently working into the card design. #5. Copy/paste the following agreement, inserting your name: "I, _______, hereby give permission for the name, quote, and image contained in this email to be used in the creation and advertising of a card game by petetheduck, which will be made available for public purchase. I agree that I will receive nothing in return, in any form or at any time, from the use of this content in the game or in advertising related to the game." . . . * Nothing profane, obscene, racist, sexist, or otherwise deemed by me to be inappropriate will be accepted. * As this game is being sold as a means of distribution, no Halo content is permitted on the cards—written or visual. I don’t want to have to redesign the cards halfway through because of a copyright issue—or worse, have to pull the game after it’s been completed. As much as we love Halo, we’re all unique people and I’m sure you can find something that does a better job of representing you personally than a Halo screenshot. * If I have any concerns about what you submit, I’ll reply to your email and we’ll make any necessary adjustments then. * Respect copyrights of artists and photographers--if you're doing an online image search, be sure you're selecting generic, non-copyrighted material. Keep in mind, there have been several artists who have already stepped up and offered to help people create images for their cards--if you're not able to create something of your own, please consider asking them to help! ONE CARD PER PERSON. SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23rd 2012—I’m trying to get this game available in time for the upcoming LAN parties next year.
