In Response To: Re: Multiplayer has issues (Avateur) : Oh it's awesome. Your radar now puts little worthless X's on it to let you : know someone died nearby! It gets even cooler when you play Slayer Pro and : we're all shouting "ONE SHOT MY X" and there's nothing we can do : about it. About the only reason I'm playing multiplayer is because : everyone else is. Tomorrow the campaign co-oping will begin so I can spare : myself from half of this nonsense. : For the record, I'm destroying people online. It's still not fun and there
I was never any good at responding to "One shot on my X" calls anyway, so I guess that doesn't matter much in the long run. I am, however, shocked, again, at this decision. Who was making these calls? What was their logic? I've known for months I'll probably play one game, hate it, and then likely only drop in for Customs, but this? It pretty much seals the deal. You cannot accurately coordinate with your team when it isn't clear who's alive and dead, and where they're alive and dead. Those status markers on the HUD have been staples since Halo 2, and in Reach finally felt perfectly tuned and refined. Natural. An element that, to me, slid into the background, but was very easily accessible when you needed it. To remove them feels not just wrong, but blasphemous.
