In Response To: FUD Episode 5 *SP* (tb2571989)

: (as the discussion wasn't possible on Friday due to Forum lockdown).

: Well, Friday saw the end of Forward Unto Dawn, probably a bit too quickly for
: the majority of us. Hunters were quite frankly terrifing and the Cheif
: mentioning how he used all his ammo to take one down was a nice touch
: because they're tough gits.

: Bit cliche with one more of the squad having to die, especially with the one
: that did.

: Glad Chief didn't remove his helmet. THOSE EYES for the two that did.

: How old were the spartans here? Something around 15-16?

: Congrats, FUD Team. You've done something quite special. I'll certainly be
: looking at getting the Extended Edition when possible.

It was my favorite episode to date, but that isn't saying much when none of them have really done anything for me. My single biggest gripe, however, can be easily seen in the image below.

Why did Forward Unto Dawn receive an enormous overhaul to her design, when 343i continues to use the original design in all of their promotional material? What the hell. And the Pelicans at the end. Those are what, D79s now? I thought we were meant to think those were FUTURE Pelicans. So why are they there? Why aren't they using D77s? This extends into Halo 4 itself on an even more annoying level. The Mark VI, the HALO 3 Mark VI, is a choice for armor in multiplayer. It's not exactly the same, but it's much closer than what he's wearing in campaign. So why the HELL did they futz with the look of his armor, if they were going to stick the original in multiplayer?

These are choices I don't understand at all, and they make me roll my eyes when they start talking about the pledge to consistency and continuity. If you're making new stuff, use the new stuff EVERYWHERE. If you're remaking old stuff, use the old stuff EVERYWHERE. Do NOT mix the two unless you have a very, very good reason for it. And here, clearly, they do not.
