HALO-ween: A Co-op Night Contest!

Co-op Night is Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST

We're wrapping up another season of Co-op Night, ladies and gentlemen. It's been a fun ride, one not without a few bumps in the road, but we've reached the end. Veterans of Co-op Night know that we usually do something different on the last night, and season 3 will follow that tradition. More on that in a moment.

This week's battle plan:

Halo

Legendary

Iron

Ghosts only

Scoring off

Levels like this put the co-op in Co-op Night, and did I mention a contest?

HALO-ween: A Co-op Night Contest

If you haven't figured out, we are going for the Annual achievement. Let me say the most important thing first: this week's Co-op Night will be TUESDAY. The assumption is that you all have got eggs to throw and trees to paper on the actual All Hallows Eve. (Just stay off my lawn!)

Contest Rules

Prizes:

The final winner gets his or her pick of three possible first prizes:

  • A laminated Halo 3 door poster
  • A McFarlane Halo 3 Master Chief figure (with rocket launcher and bubble shield)
  • the Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack (releases in December)

There will be a limited number of runner-up prizes as well. TBD.

Winning team criteria:

Fastest time between the time when Cortana says "Go, go, go!" and when the ghosts magically transform into a warthog crashing into the rear bay of the Forward Unto Dawn. I'll need team captains to save films and recommend them to me through the Halo 3 mechanism for that. Everyone may want to save their films in case there is a problem.

Final winner criteria:

Just like we did for the Deja Vu Invitational contest last season, each member of the winning team will then receive time reductions based on their individual co-op night gameplay and participation during Co-op Night Season 3. (Last call for missing scores--my spreadsheet has holes!) The player with the fastest time after bonuses are accounted for wins!

Eligibility:

Everyone who has played at least one night of this season's Co-op Night is guaranteed a slot. Normally, I list the people who have played, but without stats and knowing that I've not received scores from everyone, I'm going to have to rely on the honor system. If you haven't played this season, you still have a chance. We'll need four players per team regardless, so this means we'll likely have some open slots for new people.

If you want to play and have not played this season's co-op night, post on this thread with your gamertag and be online and ready Tuesday at 9. If we need you, we'll invite you by 9:30. Players will be picked in the order they posted here.

Whether you've played or not, be sure and send a friend request to Coop Night on XBL if you haven't already done so. This will help me organize teams.

Everybody form a line! And be sure to watch through the credits to see the Bungie-produced teaser for Halo 4!
