Cortana's Reach firefight voice and more

Here's a double whammy of Reach firefight articles I've been working on for a while.
The first one is about Cortana's voice, wonderfully done by Jen Taylor, which I routinely use in my single-player combat. There's some talk about why I go for it, followed by a careful listing and description of most of her lines. See Cortana's firefight voice.
While working on that, I developed ways of getting to hear certain line groups efficiently, and I've collected such methods into an article Hearing firefight lines which should be useful to anyone wishing to check out any voice in depth.
Something interesting I learnt is that Cortana seems to have some lines used only with Jackals. Several seconds after damaging or killing one, you can get one of the lines, such as "Guess I shouldn't play with my food". What's so special about Jackals then? The long delay - typically 7 to 9 seconds - is also strange. Anyone know if other characters have such 'Jackal lines' too?
