HBO Mountain Bash SIGN-UPS

Hi

Ok, so, this year there was no HBO Beach Party. While that in itself is a tragedy, I'd like to take a moment to remember retsamolah, the host of the HBOBP and a good friend. While he's still technically alive, he is most certainly dead in all of our hearts.

So before we get started, I'd like to ask everyone to watch this video the TSD Eugooglizing Crew has thrown together, and remember...

With that out of the way, let's move on.

Introducing the HBO Mountain Bash (aka H-BOMB)

We are now accepting applications for the HBO Mountain Bash in Park City, UT, the weekend of January 18 (MLK weekend)! And everyone's invited!

WHAT:
In the spirit of the HBO Beach Party, the HBO Mountain Bash will be a gathering of HBOers where we basically just have a good time for a weekend. Drinking, playing Halo, and skiing/snowboarding for those who are able. We will rent a cabin, possibly one or two vans (depending on how many people drive in), and run shit for a few days.

Possible activities include:
- Halo
- hanging out with cool HBOers
- hanging out with NartFOpc
- drinking (for those of age)
- probably a day of skiing/snowboarding somewhere
- various snow-related shenanigans
- going into town to flaunt our collective social awkwardness in a confident and extroverted manner because we're a large enough group that the diffusion of embarrassment is sufficient to bring it below everyone's personal threshold
- grilling?

WHEN:
The weekend of January 18. MLK Jr Day is Jan 21 (Monday), so it gives us a long weekend to do silly things. That's Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night.

WHERE:
In or around Park City, UT. Exact location is TBD since it will depend on which cabin we rent, which will depend on how many people go. If you're booking a flight, look into flying into Salt Lake City

EXPENSES:
This is not like most LANs. It's not even like the Beach Party. Whereas with most LANs all you had to do was get to the destination, the HBOMB is more complicated. Here's a good summary of the kind of expenses you will be encountering:

- $200-$250 for your share of a cabin for 3 nights (total cost -- looking for $50-$75 per person per night)
- cost of transportation into/out of Salt Lake City
- skiing/snowboarding equipment rental/passes (if desired, you don't have to)
- pitching in for possible van rental (plus the cost of painting "THE D-TEAM" on the side)
- pitching in for food/beer/soda/bribes

Seems like a lot of cash, right? Maybe. But wouldn't you say it's worth it to be a part of one of the coolest HBO get-togethers HBO has ever produced? This party is going to be the stuff of legends, man.

DIFFICULTY
If you do decide to go, I would immensely prefer if you fly in on Friday and fly out on Monday. This is because the cabin will be rented for those days anyway, and if you spend less than the full time there, we have to decide if (a) you pay for your share of the cabin for a night you're not there, or (b) we make everyone cover your share of the cost for the night you didn't stay

WHY
If you attend the HBOMB, not only will you get to hang out with Schooly D:

But you'll ALSO get to hang out with NartFOpc!

I seriously don't understand why you haven't already hopped in your car and started driving Park City-bound.
