| New BOB Video, and BOB Hunt Update! | |

After spending an insane amount of time playing The Package, I finally found a better way to take out the BOB in Sword Base's Atrium. This is probably the second-hardest BOB to kill in the game, but this method improves the likelihood of getting to him by about 10 times (by my estimation) as compared to the method I developed for this level's BOB Video Guide. HUGE thanks to Korny for rendering this footage, which allowed me to provide my first HD video. Check it out! BOB Video Guide - BOB 45 Ghost Method [HD] Also, I thought I'd update everyone on the status of my own BOB hunt, in case anyone's curious. To date, I've wiped out 40 out of 48 possible unique BOBs in Legendary, full-run, no death games where I activate all Data Pads in the level, in addition to some Heroic BOBs (see below). Here's a level-by-level breakdown: Winter Contingency: I identified seven unique BOBs in this level on Legendary, which is still accurate, but the game script supposedly states that there are 14 spawn points, which means that the game considers the non-Legendary BOBs -- which wield Plasma Repeaters instead of Concussion Rifles -- to be separate. To be sure, I've wiped out all seven BOBs on Heroic, bringing the total BOB kills on this level to 14. ONI: I've wiped out every possible armor variant for both the Courtyard and the Atrium, for 16 unique BOB kills. Nightfall: Only three BOBs on this level, and all three have bitten the dust! Tip of the Spear: All four verified BOBs have been wiped out! I haven't given up hope on finding where BOB 28 is off to, but aside from some sort of divine intervention, it's not likely that we'll ever know how to find him. Long Night of Solace: I'm saving this level for second-to-last, so I have not wiped out any BOBs on this level per my requirements. This level scares me. Exodus: I surprised myself when I was able to beat this level on Legendary without dying, and I even got two of the BOBs in two consecutive flawless games! So, three Banshee BOBs out of three down. New Alexandria: With great effort, I was able to get the highly random BOBs on this level. The degree of luck manipulation required (go and wait for a BOB to show up, if he doesn't, restart, repeat) meant this took quite a bit of time, but four out of four Banshee BOBs have bitten the dust! The Package: This is my most recent accomplishment, with BOB 45 the last one I needed to get to finish. This level is a bear but I somehow managed to wipe out all three BOBs here! Take that, Dan "I just put in the obstacle, not the means to solve the problem" Miller! Pillar of Autumn: This is my next challenge, but with only two BOBs and ample information available about using the early Mass Driver trick to make the final battle easier, I should have this done soon. Lone Wolf: My white whale, BOB 49, will be the last one I defeat. I hope to be able to put up the full video of his demise on YouTube, and if anything amazing happens, I'll be sure to let you know.
