Must… resist… posting… about Halo… Thought… I quit… THIS IS TOO MUCH!!! Blackstar asked me today if I had any interest in Halo 4. I told him, no, and he wondered why both Narcogen and I would say that. Your answer is right here. Frankie's podcast won't soothe anything over, unless some of the items detailed below are denied unambiguously. With regard to weapon spawns, I am absolutely shocked that (QUOTE): "This gives the matches other focal points, and it also helps alleviate the advantage longtime players always used to have over newer recruits;" I just do not have words to express how deeply flawed, terrible, and incompetent that attitude is. Veterans are supposed to have an advantage over new recruits! If they don't, why bother learning the game at all? TRU SKILL. All I have to say. Pair up players of similar skills. Allow players to play custom games with people they know are of their skill level. This is not a problem. If this is true and 343 thinks that skill should not be rewarded in a competitive game, then I seriously doubt their decision making abilities. Next up is buying shit with Spartan Points. This is a terrible idea. Spartan Ops (a play on spec ops, oh we're not copying call of duty!) might be fun, I don't know. But god dammit, why make me waste my time collecting Spartan Points to buy the levels? Just put them in the game accessible from the beginning. I play games for fun, not to have my time wasted. Having to do stuff to unlock things wastes my time. Having to grind for spartan points wastes my time. When life is so short, why should I allow my time to be wasted? Instead of making me earn Spartan points for no good reason, I could instead be hanging out with friends, seeing a movie, making a movie, skydiving, rock climbing, writing, going to improv comedy, working out, cycling, having sex, or playing a video game that doesn't waste my time. (These are not arbitrarily chosen; I do all these things. Substitute your own list with things you love to do). With all that, why should I try to earn Spartan Points in Halo 4? There is no reason. The analysis makes it clear this is to add playtime to the game. How about making a fun, engaging game and letting THAT entice me to play for months and months? Congratulations 343, on not having a clue on how making good games work. P.S. Enjoy this long lost unreleased Anger Sadness Envy Podcast regarding Halo Anniversary. (AAC, 59 mins, 29MB)
