Forgotten Halo Wars Powers, Abilities, etc
Posted By: kornman00 <kornman00@gmail.com>Date: 3/28/12 3:24 a.m.

I was working on an app that requires some parsing of the Halo Wars game data to work, when I came across some (more) Powers/Abilities which didn't make the final game. I figured I'd post them here to maybe get some more people annoying asking 343i to make a Halo Wars sequel. For which, I would gladly offer my programming skills to help make. Just sayin'.

Powers:
* Hot Drop: There are hot drops (something flies in and drops them off at a designated spot) for various units (scorpion, wolverines, brutes, etc)
* Land Mines: Use the UNSC Shortsword Bomber to drop a high number of anti-infantry mines in an area.
* Tactical Missles: Although they cannot be fired near enemy Jammers, tactical missiles can be devastating against enemy troops and buildings.
* Mine Field: Select a location to lay a minefield.
* Light\Heavy Artillery: Select an area where you have line of sight. the area you select will be hit with light\heavy artillery shells.
* Flares: Select a target location and reveal the map.
* Smoke: Choose a target area to block your enemy's line of sight.
* Anti-air drones: Select an area. A pelican will fly in and drop air-defense drones.
* Disruption bombs: Select a target location to stun enemy infantry, reveal cloaked units and explode enemy mines.
* Sensor Lock: Choose an enemy unit. Your units will cause more damage on that unit for 60 seconds.
* Turret Jammer: Select an area. Enemy turrets in that area will not be able to fire and will have no line of sight.
* Directed firepower: Select troops to increase attack power.
* Alpha Squadron: Select an area. Falcons will arrive to attack enemy air units.
* Bravo Squadron: Select an area. Falcons will arrive to attack enemy vehicles.
* Snipers: Select an area. Hidden snipers will kill enemy units in that area.
* Cruiser support fire: Select enemy air units. Heavy cruisers will track and fire upon the enemy units.
* Emergency Teleport: Select units to teleport back to nearest base.
* Infantry cloak: Select an area. Infantry in the area will cloak.
* War cry charge!: Select an area. Speed and damage of infantry in the area is increased.
* Dome of Light: Choose a location. A protective dome will shelter that location.

Abilities:
* Dig In: Marines fortify a position which can be upgraded to a turret.
* Mines: Warthog lays land mines
* Honk: Marines can get a ride on a scorpion gaining defense and range.
* Shade Turret: Consumes grunt squad to place a shade turret.
* Demolitions: Spartans can set bombs on enemy vehicles and buildings.
* Hawk over thruster: Hawk travels at very fast to selected location, Hawk is prevented from attacking for 4 seconds.

BONUS ROUND! Below are some leaders (some old, some "new") and their old descriptions (I'm guessing these descriptions reflect how the game was designed back in 2007):
* Captain Cutter - Play style: Mid to late game play with a focus on defense and artillery. Strengths: Badger and Rhino have extra range and damage. Unique unit: Artillery Fort. Power: Orbital Bombardment (requires Level 4 Command Center). Weaknesses: No Scorpions or Hawks.
* Spartan - Play style: Mixed early and midgame play with a focus\n on infantry.\nStrengths: You get access to the nuke silo. Spartans buff nearby units and can demolish buildings. Unique unit: The stealthy Spartan. Power: EMP Pulse (requires Level 3 Command Center). Weaknesses: No ground vehicles.
* Commander Morkev - Play style: Early rush attack moving to mid-game skirmish play. Strengths: Vehicles are faster and can capture power nodes. Level 3 Aircraft can stealth. Unique units: The Cougar and the Fox. Power: ODST drop (requires Level 4 Command Center). Weaknesses: All units have less hit points than normal.
* Sergeant Forge - Play style: Mid to late game vehicle combat. Strengths: Stronger vehicles, infantry get extra rockets. Unique Unit: Tiger. Power: Repair (requires level 3 Command Center). Weaknesses: No air units, vehicles are slower than normal.
* Serina - Play style: Balanced play focused on countering enemy strengths. Strengths: All upgrades are less expensive and available earlier. Unique unit: The Vulture. Power: CPU Hack (requires Level 2 Command Center). Weaknesses: All units are weaker and less accurate.
*Arbiter - Play style: Balanced play focused on using the Arbiter to the max. Strengths: Arbiter can cleanse and use special weapons. Unique unit: Arbiter. Power: Call in Arbiter (requires Base Level 1). Weaknesses: No access to Gorghan and Chimera.

* Elite Air Marshal - Play style: Strong mid game with air superiority. Strengths: Air upgrades are cheap and fast. Unique units: Flying elites and Air Artillery. Power: Bombing Run Weaknesses: No infantry other than flying elites, limited selection of ground units.
