Yep, got the Banshee

In Response To: Re: CEA campaign thoughts *LONG* (Revenant1988) Ok I've done some fresh testing and yep, you can indeed blast the Banshee down in the usual way. However, it does seem to be harder in CEA, which may explain why quite a few folk thought it was impossible. I've added a postscript about this to the end of the article. Based on my new testing, I also don't think the mode you're using makes any difference, other than in how you might use the patterning on the underside to guide your aim. After finding a reliable spot to aim at, the Banshee was coming down just as reliably in enhanced mode as in classic mode. : 2.) I was hitting it in the right spot all along, and the new graphics were : somehow interfering with the explosion. * : *Unlikely but know this: When I switched back to classic graphics, I did NOT : move my sight ONE BIT. Just switched visual modes. I launched the rocket, : (hitting the same spot mind you) and I knocked it down. It's probably all : in my head, but at that time I could swear to you the new graphics were : interfering with the shot. It's been hard for me to duplicate to prove : though. Again, probably all in my head. When you switched to classic, was that after firing in enhanced mode? If so, the Banshee may've got nudged, setting things up for your classic rocket to finish off. If not, things might instead be explained by a degree of fickleness I noticed. On a side note, I realized that in classic mode you can actually see a light-strip through the solid platform, when you're part way up the battlefield. Graphics glitch there (not seen in H1). it's the strip that mirrors one seen below the platform.
