Some more delicious Halo Wars animations.

So, who here knew that Halo Wars had a close-combat system?
It's true. Load up one of the Flood levels and send your Spartan into a swarm of infection forms. He (or she) will start beating the enemies with their weapons. I don't think a lot of enemies will actually do this, though.

Here's what Juan Martinez, animator from Ensemble Studios, had to say about it.

"These animations were created as a concept for a Close Combat system for the game Halo Wars. The close combat system made it into the game, but only the first of these animations was used as a game asset."

Close Combat from Juan Martinez on Vimeo.

If it's not showing up... well, Vimeo's always been tricky to embed. Just follow the links.
Right. When I get really ambitious, I'll upload a close-up video of the Cyclops animations.
