HBO MM night highlights

LastThursday members of HBO waged war on the killing fields of Reach. Ah yes, it was brother against brother- a departure from our typical HBO vs. Randy and it did not disappoint. Many games were played, and much fun was had. Let’s take a look at a summary of that evening shall we? 5 flags were captured 7 bombs were detonated Territories were held for 449 painful seconds 4 objectives were invaded You killed each other 2012 times You committed suicide or betrayed each other 51 times [editior’s note: LOL –Rev] Some of that may not seem like a lot, but as those who were there may tell you, every flag capped, and every bomb detonated was earned, and no objectives were lost without a fight until the end. Many games ended in a tie, showing that even if MM split the teams a little unevenly that communication could match skill. Even if it was un-godly loud in a couple of games. The Players Here is a roster of those who ventured into the jaws of HBO MM that night, and of those that MoltenSlowa drove off a cliff FOR NO RAISEN. May they rest in peace…or pieces. SquidNH3 – Better than he lets on MoltenSlowa – Still trying to get that learners permit padraig pr7me – Must…ruin….bones Revenant1988 – Accident prone SNIPE 316 – “I suck” Ultimate RC – “I’m aliv- FUUUUUUUU!” Bones 153 – Angry face CortanaVII – Can’t fly Spec 0p Grunt – Objective: get the objective iMonkey777 – Sex:KABOOM Mid7night – recording this right now Stabbim - doesn't look both ways before crossing the street nomis78 – can’t drive 55 KoRnyMunKy - OOOOOOOOOoooooo ScaleMaster117 – blinding killing you with science Masterxtp1 - did someone order a warthog? Gnrl Vagueness – dazed and confused ZaneZavin –better than you Bluerunner - he can surf Znite – “this is going to ruin my K/D” We started off with a nice warmup game of territories on Tempest, and then dove into Invasion . I must say that invasion is much more enjoyable against people you know. Games were even score wise, with neither team winning the 3rd phase. The elite is me- one of the few times I was able to sneak up on Squid. I’d say he was my rival for the majority of the night. You see that down there? Yeah, that’s the objective we were trying to cap so hard. Do you see the 30 sec warning? Yes? Well, what you don’t see is me saying, “IT’S OK GUYS, I GOT THIS” Here’s how that played out for me: Oh, and here was my teams last try to get that damn core: The next invasion match on Boneyard didn’t go any better. Both teams were stymied at Phase 3. You see kids, we all knew Bones’ secret strategy for taking the core in the other direction. So when you play against your own team, you have to invent new strategies. So, being the nice guy I am I just thought I’d ask Bones for the core. Here was his response: (At least he’s smiling, right?) When we were able to get by Bones we still had to get past iMonkey, who was having none of that. He also kept yelling KABOOM for some reason… Here is their teams last push for the core. I’d like to think that given the circumstances, what I did to slowa was acceptable :P From there is was a healty mix of slayer and objective. My team sets up for domination The second falcon we got that game. Cortana really wanted to ride. Or get chopped up in the rotors. I’m not sure which. OH, and those of you with a keen eye may notice Padraig shooting at Bones. I think this was because he managed to get to the gunners seat first. I think his exact words were “neener neener” This is midnight. I wonder what he’s shooting at? Oh right, he was shooting at me. All because Padraig HAD to have the “shiny” warthog. Nomis drove into a bad neighborhood, and got robbed by the MK V Marauders gang (aka Revenant + Padraig) It was caught on video. Stabbim was also the victim of an unfortunate car accident. It’s Red vs Red, and Blue vs Blue. It’s I against I and me against you…. Look! It’s Snipe! And he’s doing something other than sniping! I have proof! Snipe and Paddy taking RC Master to safety, flag secured. Meanwhile, ScaleMaster keeps us guessing where our flag is My team…it was like deer caught in a headlight. There was no where to run from ScaleMaster’s murdermobile Snipe doing his best to make sure I stay out of his teams way. There is a video of him and I in a DMR jetpack duel but its too terrible to show here. It would be embarrassing for us both. Snipe ending both of my tank sprees…. JERK A really fun game was Neutral Assault. My team managed a 2 point lead. Blue team was able to rally a few times for some solid drives into our territory. Korny refused to get into Slowa’s hog. At the time Paddy and I couldn’t see why. Clearly, Korny knew what would happen and wanted no part of it. Sorry RC. If it makes you feel any better, we bailed on him as soon as you died! Here they are, gearing up for something… ScaleMaster led this drive to Red base. Very clever having the escort hog act as a decoy for the objective hog. And here is how that plan went, viewed from the eyes of their gunner, iMonkey: Do a barrel roll! You may have noticed that our teams warthog appears to have caught some of those plasma rounds… well, it did. Oh, Nomis, I’m sure Paddy is sorry haha Padraigs view aka blow up ALL the things! I tried to stay in the middle with the Plasma launcher, hiding in the rocks hoping to block their vehicles before they had a chance. Well, The thing about the PL is that it’s slow, and stupid. So slow, that its target was taken out faster by MoltenSlowa, and stupid that it couldn’t stop itself once he took over my target. My bad, slowa. We played a hell of a match of Assault on Mt.Lam Lam. IDK what the eff Lam Lam is, but I can tell you that blue team was just mopping the floor with us kill wise. Znite and ZaneZavin were the bane of my existence that game. Neither team could arm the bomb, but those two had us pinned to about a 3rd of our half of the map. It didn't help our team that bones had to leave, or Slowa’s questionable driving. For example: Me: I got the bomb, lets go! Slowa: YEAH!!! BACON!!!1!!!11!!! Me : what what are you? no no NO NO NOOooo Slowa; BAAaaaaacoonnnnnnnnnn IDK who that blue guy is, or why he followed us to a grave of stupidity. That's all I got.
