What is "Halo"?

... Deep, I know! But I'm tired, and my ability to judge whether an idea for a post is good or not goes way down when I'm tired. Seriously, this is not meant to enrage or inflame any hot topics, but simply to lean back and examine the question that I posed above... What is "Halo"? Is "Halo" Bungie? Or can it be made by anyone? Is Halo how the spread of bullets act? Is it the sound a certain gun makes? Is it how many races use damn hexagons? Is it how the events of August 2552 line up with each other? Or is Halo something more than all that? Or a sum of all its parts? And how much can you tweak, change, remove, or add before it ceases to be Halo? Is it like playing Jenga, where every delicate move may cause it to tumble down? (Connecting this to the relevant news, do the changes in the TU actually change the core of Halo? Is shooting a needler no longer fun? Hearing the boom of a Scorpion's canon? Have we become so desensitized to the magic of Halo that simple changes disturb us so much?) ...Or if you somehow grasp the heart of Halo itself, does it persist, despite a drastic change in appearance or function? Feel free to answer the questions, or ask more. (The older I get, the more I find giving questions to be more helpful than trying to provide answers.)
