In Response To: Re: Your analysis is grossly incomplete (FyreWulff) : It omits: - crouched shots, where the DMR and NR both have effective zero : bloom, and the sandbox goes to total shittt This test does not conclude anything about sandbox balancing, merely about pacing versus spamming. Crouching reduces bloom (I assume) by an equal amount in both 100% and 85%. Therefore, I would hypothesize that my results would still hold true if I had test crouching. Also, while crouching, the effects of spamming would be harder to see and would lead to a less conclusive test. : - Mathematically, the reticule resetting faster will always reward someone
: With no RoF lock, any reduction in the maximum amount the reticule can bloom
That is exactly what I wanted to study in my test. Would the increased accuracy of spammed shots in 85% bloom outweigh the reduction in firing time for fully paced shots? I determined that at all ranges, 85% provides more of an advantage to the pacer than 100% bloom does. So basically my numbers say the opposite of what you posted. : - If your target is bigger than the bloomed out reticule in any mode, there
Sure, I agree. But you said in another post that you have never once spammed the DMR for a kill. If that's the case, then you should like 85% bloom because you will have more of a chance at beating the spammers at all ranges. : - It's kind of hard to compare kill times when 100% bloom has proper shields
I believe you misunderstand the results. I'm not comparing kill times across 100% and 85% bloom (clearly, 85% reduces the kill times across the board). What I'm comparing is the difference between a paced kill and a spammed kill within each bloom setting. This shows us not only who will win a given battle (pacer or spammer), but by how much time. In my results, I determined that, compared to 100% bloom, 85% bloom increases the amount of time the pacer wins compared to the spammer. Because the margin of the win is larger, this means the pacer win a higher majority of the battles. And this is shown to be the case by the increase in pacing wins in the results. : Which is why my NR autoaim : study focused on the actual shots themselves and not the kill times,
The shots directly affect the kill times, and the variations in shot times are insignificantly small. Also, I based my results on time because it is hard to visualize what winning by 0.37 of a shot looks like. :)
