Thunderdead - Foundation for Infection | |

Download Beta 1 of Thunderdead So, here it is. Thunderdead. The name is based off the map that Foundation (from Halo 2) was based off of, Thunderdome, from the Marathon series. I wanted to submit one for Infection in time for the last update, but I ran into two issues: 1) None of the maps were viable for four-player splitscreen. They were barely viable for 2-split. 2) None of the authors I contacted wanted to edit their map down. They wanted their variant to emulate every single curve, nook, and crack from the original map. Paring it down and modifying it to give the zombies some sort of fighting chance was out of the question. 3) The work for me to edit one of the maps down myself would have taken more time - and reworking - than just making one from the ground up. Thunderdead meets the following requirements: 1) Low object count to make it viable for 4 player split, while looking "interesting" enough. The map is 20$ over my original budget of $3,000, which is lower than Asylum and Pinnacle's budget. It could go even under Hemorrhage's if I really wanted it to. 2) Made from the ground up for Infection, and Infection only. The Zombies have safe spawn attics in all four rooms that they can teleport between, to attack, regroup, and flank humans. I intentionally chose to use the Large Walkways as the side pillars on the map. Not only are they cheap for the detail they lend to the map, they also restrict the pistol firing lines to give the zombies a chance. Now, I want to submit this, but only if you guys approve of it. So download it, check it out, tell me what you think, and make suggestions for changes. Known Issues - Zfighting on certain objects
