I actually am glad they're : splitting it, because the Hobbit is a meaty tale and I just hope they do : it in a way that allows each movie to exist on its own but still tell a : naturally transitioning story (if that even makes sense, which I don't : think it did). Makes sense to me. Remember this Extra Credits about story pacing? The Hobbit has that exact curve...twice. It goes through all those peaks and valleys, settling on a denouement when the party meets up with Beorn. It then does it all again leading up to the Battle of the Five Armies.
