| Just how far was that corvette from Sword Base? | |

I was playing with Laird on the weekend. Hadn't seen or heard from himn since Halo Fest and he hit me up for a game of campaign. When we were playing Sword Base and got to the end cutscene, he asked if it was possible to figure out how far the corvette had gotten from the base when the MAC round struck it. Curious question. Was there enough info to go by? As it turns out, there was. Challenge accepted. I noted the assumptions I made and included all my work to show the class. This is not by any means extraordinary. This is what happens when a lazy Sunday passes you by and you realize you didn't do any math. (Man, I gotta get out more!) So here you have it? Should it have blown Jorge's eardrums? Should it have produced a giant tidal wave so close? Did they dial the orbital round back to purposely lose all momentum when it emerged on the other side of the corvette? That's math for another time...and another person maybe. :)
