Wait. Did they just un-retcon TFoR?

In Response To: New Data Drop (CaneCutter) I found this interesting: Margaret, my original notes did include Reach here, but this was only a hypothetical and based entirely on what we’ve found there. You should keep in mind that using Reach as bait for this op is not an option I’m willing to consider. It’s tactical suicide. We’d be giving them the war with only Earth left to fall back to, something I will not endorse. The only exception to this, in my mind, would be if the Covenant had already located Reach and it was deemed indefensible. [emphasis added] "If" the Covenant had already located Reach? This sorta implies that they haven't found Reach yet, but the time stamp on this message (August 1, 2552) places it a week after Winter Contingency is declared. Unless there's the usual "A Wizard ONI did it!" BS to explain how high-ups like Stanforth and Parangosky, the former who was in the Epsilon Eridani system(!) when this message was sent, apparently weren't aware that the Covenant had been on Reach for a week, then 343i may have just retconned Halo: Reach out of existence and un-retconned the last third of TFoR.
