During my weekly "check what stuff Kotaku posted"-routine, I came across this article, about a guy that applied to 343 for a cinematic editing gig. The video in the article was apparently part of his resume. The guy didn't get hired.
And, in all honesty, I can see why. The video's not bad, but the lame choice for background music (90% of all Halo videos have the main theme running in the back ground), the weird choice of making it in "The Movies", and the speech that just didn't hook my attention (I seriously forget everything the guy said right away) just screamed "meh" to me.
I'm not saying I could do better (especially with my lack of equipment for the job), but when you're trying to make an appealing video... I dunno, this isn't how I'd go about to doing it.
