I really wanted to do a marathon again after the success of Halo for Haiti.. however, half of the equipment I used to do that exploded or disappeared into the same void that socks go into, and I think the newly minted Bungie Foundation seems to be doing a pretty good job of raising funds for assistance in Japan. I now feel okay posting this since the bracelets already sold out once. Anyone who has purchased the pretty blue bracelets OR has donated to a charity like OxFam or the Red Cross / Red Crescent, I would like to enter you in my prize drawing. How to enter: Bracelet Method Requires: bracelet purchase, camera 1. Order bracelet and wait for it to arrive. 2. Take a picture that uses the bracelet in some way. Just you wearing it, or an interesting/clever picture. 3. Understand that I may elect to post your picture to the internet if I find it awesome. Do not include your face in the picture if you do not want your face on the internet. 4. Multiple bracelets are extra credit but still count as a single entry. So if you ordered them for your entire family, use them all in your entry! 5. Send an email to halohelpsjapan@gmail.com with the following: Subject: BANDS FOR JAPAN Body: Your gamertag or PSN ID Attach: .jpg, .gif or .png picture (try to keep it <200KB, no need to send me 7 megapixel pictures) .bmp will be rejected For every 100 valid entries I receive in this category, I will donate 1$ to the Red Cross with a cap of 100$. How to enter: General Method requires: donation to a charity that participates in disaster relief or a Bungie store purchase This is the way for those that bought a bracelet and do not have a camera, cannot buy the bracelet, or already donated/plan to donate in some other fashion. All you need to do is be able to prove you donated, whether it was via paypal to OxFam, or you donated via the new PSN method. Any amount qualifies. Since Bungie is donating 100% of their store proceeds to the effort until April 30th, any purchases from their store also counts. 1. Screencap or scan your receipt for donation or bracelet/Bungie store purchase 2. Remove any credit card / address information from the receipt. Failure to do so will disqualify your entry instantly. You can do this easily with every operating system's built in image editor. 3. Send an email to halohelpsjapan@gmail.com with the following: Subject: JAPAN ASSISTANCE Body: Your gamertag or PSN ID Attach: .jpg, .gif or .png picture (try to keep it <100KB) .bmp will be rejected The Prize(s) The first drawing out of the pool will be for a Defiant Map Pack code, on April 4th. This should be enough time for people to get the bracelet shipped to them. You can use this code yourself or gift it to a friend. However, I will make at least one more drawing.. but depending on turnout, I may find a way to give thanks to even more people for helping out Japan in this time of need. It is very possible that some Noble codes could be handed out aswell. General Rules and Disclaimers - Limit ONE entry per email. You much choose which category to enter with (so as to be fair to international fans who may have trouble acquiring the bracelets). You cannot enter both of them. - Defiant Map Pack code was bought at a Gamestop in Nebraska. I believe the code will work for any region, but I may substitute an alternate prize if it does not work for you. - Contest and entry period begins at the time of this post and closes at midnight CST on April 30th. - If I see the same picture/screencap come in from two different emails, both emails will be disqualified (but I still thank you for your help!).
