The Number 69 *slightly ot/sp* | |

this is from letters to the webmaster back in '96 (http://www.bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/site/0/site/bnet/webmaster/oldletters96.html): "I have noticed that on the CD for M2 and Marathon Infinity there are 69 items on each CD! Is that a sick joke or it just happened that way? Jim Pochas, jimp@mail.microserve.net Do I have to spell everything out for you? 69 can be sparated into the component numbers 6 and 9. 6 + 9 = 14. 14 / 2 (Marathon sequels) = 7. Now do you understand? It's simple numerology, not rocket science. Is it a sick joke? Maybe - if you think the idea of Bungie subtly and slowly assuming complete control of the entire universe is FUNNY." Reading this reminded me of when I was screwing around in the library (http://yuan.ecom.cmu.edu/utfoo/mission/library.htm), jumping down from one floor to another using the oversheild and having someone hang back in the elevator shaft to nullify that instant death forcefield between levels (:P). I came across a single weapon (and nothing else) on the first floor, sitting in front of one of the big blue doorways... http://yuan.ecom.cmu.edu/utfoo/images/library/libjump15.jpg The assault rifle had ammo: 6 Clip: 9. Now, I failed to re-check if the same thing would happen upon re-loading the level. I was too busy smacking myself upside the head for not realizing that I could use the oversheild to get down into that bright fog-filled central area (I had previously spent an hour pushing armless flood down there and trying to land on them... unfortunately they died upon impact...) ANYWAY... what I am saying is that I haven't confirmed if that is a special ammo count/rifle location. If it is a special location/ammo count, then- to quote jim '96 "Is that a sick joke or it just happened that way?"
