Though there's still a slight contradiction between this and some newer sources - that quote about ships "undergoing trials" is in 2552, while in Contact Harvest, even unmanned freighters and the Tiara had artificial gravity without rotating sections. Not to mention the SoF in Halo Wars. Wasn't it also an artificial gravity device of sorts that the rebels used to incapacitate the Spartans in GoO? It seems to me that the UNSC had mastered artificial gravity well before they encountered the Covenant.
