What are YOUR Forge projects? *IMG*
Posted By: BlueNinja <kennethdemuyt@msn.com>Date: 1/23/11 2:39 p.m.

I've seen a lot of great works come out of the Forging community. Greatness, as you know, often has an inspiring effect. If you see something great, you want to make something great yourself. Or, at least, I do. :p

The problem I have with Forging is simple: starting something is easy, finishing it is not. I've got 6 projects in the works right now, and am in the middle of my exams. Often, when I feel like having a break, I'll do some forging... But just as often, I'll get another idea for a map, and start anew. My name is BlueNinja, and I have a problem. :(

In any case, these are some of the projects you can expect out of the Ninja Vaults sooner or later. And with that, we come to the question this topic is built upon: What are YOUR projects?

Photobucket
"Wait a minute," I hear you thinking, "That's Lookout! That's finished already!" Thing is, I'm not completely happy with it. It's a good map for FFA, but my team spawns need some serious work. GAF Customs had a team match on it yesterday, and apparently the experience was not very enjoyable.

Photobucket
Shrine. (Codename TEMPLE). A huge-ass Invasion map that sees players charge over open plains, destroy a generator and escape with a Forerunner data core. The map's size, however, is the reason I haven't worked on it for months: I don't have the time, nor the will to finish it. The day this map is released may be a long time away.

Photobucket
Haven. (Codename WATER). An attempt to create a big arena, filled with hazards. A wrong jump, and you're dead. As you can see, half of the map isn't even finished, making it look more like a wharf right now. It should end up symmetrical, with the 'water' base a bit more open than the 'rock' one.

Photobucket
Concavity. (Codename H2O). This one evolved rather quickly, out of a desire to create a large team-based map. I'm still having trouble with the man cannons, however, and that has put this map on the backburner.

Photobucket
Monolith. (Codename SPINDLE). Pretty much empty at this point, and it might remain that way. The point was to have two bases, with a central landmark in the middle.

Photobucket
Cascade. (Codename LOOKOUT 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO). This one was born today, out of the complaints some of HaloGAF had with the original Lookout. It's a lot bigger, to accommodate team battles, and tries to incorporate some things that made Halo 2's Ascension great. This will probably be the second map I finish, or have died trying.

So, to repeat my earlier question, what do YOU have in your Forge Vault, that we haven't seen yet? Show us, and perhaps some enlightened individuals will have tips and encouraging words for you. Or perhaps not. Only one way to find out...

And now, back to studying. ><
