I'm not gonna say Halo 2 had brilliant writing, but it's certainly true that a decent amount of effort went into making the Arbiter feel like a character.

Granted, I've only played up through New Alexandria to date, but as far as I can see, Six is a blank slate carefully designed to make sure the player knows nothing of significance about him/her.

Saying Noble Six is as fleshed-out as the Arbiter just seems woefully wrong, at a factual level. I don't think that can truthfully be described as a matter of opinion.

Given the massive gap between the characterizations of the Arbiter and Noble Six, I thought kapowaz's sarcasm was about as appropriate as sarcasm ever is. (Okay - yeah, I laughed. I thought it was funny, and mildly insightful.)

-Nate (has never been able to subscribe to the theory that quality of art and taste in art are purely subjective, even though he has little evidence that they are not.

He also, on an unrelated note, thinks that making protagonists blank canvases is actually a mistake, in games that follow a strict story arc, as it encourages the player to notice the dichotomy between the freedom in gameplay and the constraint in the story arc. This is one of the many reasons he likes Oni - it defined the player's character very strongly.)

Why don't they teach them logic at these schools?
