What makes Cortana so sure that Halo's destruction will stop the Flood from spreading? The Halos' ultimate pupose of wiping out sentient life galaxy-wide may be valid in the event of a major outbreak. However, in the case of a localized event (as in the game the Flood are only loose on a single installation and have no way off as of yet) if just desroying the affected ring was enough to contain the Flood (as Cortana seems to assume) wouldn't the Forerunner(s) opt for this method first. You know, as opposed to turning the galaxy into an intellectual wasteland. Just seems that as the final cutscene depicts, there are now several huge chunks of Halo floating around thye galaxy, ferrying god knows what to god knows where... Food for thought...that's not funny | |
