| Getting out of the Pillar of Autumn in Seconds | |

Hey... ok here's a really neat exploitation of the fact that the cryo-tube doors close after you are able to move after stepping out of the cryo-tube. I think you can actually walk outside of the map until your character is loaded/teleported via a loading zone or a cutscene (duh). Specifically... you can walk on top of the light fixtures, wall borders, etc... I think you can trigger the loading zones if you are close enough to them, without actually being in the proper space... so this could allow for exploration outside of the map all the way to the captain cutscene. And when you reach the loading zone before the captain... well... that loads the space outside the PoA. After that point you should be able to get out into space, rather than just out into the black void of "out of map." I haven't even gotten close to jumping that far yet... so most of what I just said is educated guessing... but I wanted to post what I've got so far in case anyone else wanted to try and get outside the PoA... ...Sorry for the digital camera pictures, but I'm still not quite mobile enough to get out to the capture card computer. Going out there for the "Halo Exploration #3" actually resulted in an extra 4 days in bed (and in pain)... | |
