Anyone figured out how to force species?

The built in Elite Slayer forces Elites. But I don't see an option and none of my clanmates have figured out how to force Spartans.. we always spawn as our preferred Elites when we're trying to make a gametype. Am I missing something obvious or do customs need to rely on the honor system?
