Just thought I would ask what console I would go for as a replacement my RROD 360 as I get the vouchers sometime this week.

Do I got for a 360 premium as they are in stock or order and wait for an elite?

Is that true for the UK premiums too? I thought it was just NTSC 360 premiums

Do you know how many sales assistants I have to say premium to? They think 360 is just the brand name so I Have to specify what package I am talking about. Gets on my nerves when I have to keep repeating myself so I keep saying it now

It's what it has been called, and it is what it will be called, doesn't matter if you type the right name out in bold text, nobody really cares anyway. Smile

It really depends on your need of the 120gb HDD. If you really need the storage space, go for the elite. If not, get a Premium.

Personally I'd get a premium. I don't really need the extra space, and I don't really care about the colour as long as everything is the same colour (which it won't be if I get a black console and controller, when the rest of my stuff is white. Plus the Premium is sheaper than the Elite, and still has the new chips and HDMI. (if you get one made recently)

Right all the 360 Elites around me have sold out and I am not going all the way to Durham to get one!

So I got the premium with the new 65nm chip (Falcon) and I have to say that it is worth it. The console is soo quiet now that I wonder why they could not have delayed the launch or incorporated the chip in there from the start.

Easiest way to tell is if the power brick says 175W output power it is falcon and 203W then it is launch. And all the consoles that HDMI built it.

Well bring on the gaming! Cool

Hmm I have one of the newer Xboxs but I've not noticed any difference in the noise produced. Confused


I asked these guys the same question just before Halo 3 cos my xbox rroded. In the end I got an elite.

And... did you check the Metro Center? There surely would have been an elite somewhere in there.

Seriously? I have noticed that when playing games it is super quiet compared to the old machines. But that might just be me going senile in my old age Confused

I got replacement vouchers that could only be used in Currys, Dixons or PC World. I know there were Elites around as I have seen them in town but not in those stores and they are completely sold out (i.e. there warehouses were empty and needed to wait on MS to ship them some more) But I don't mind not having an elite only thing that elite has over the premiums now is the 120GB HDD and I can live without that. I doubt I will ever put that much stuff on it anyway.
